For visa questions, please note that tourists and visitors do not require a visa prior to arrival in the Maldives. Bona-fide tourists and visitors of all nationalities are granted a 30-day visa, free of charge, upon arrival in the Maldives. However, all the visitors need a valid passport, valid for the duration of their stay in the Maldives. If a passport expiry date falls within 30 days of arrival, tourists cannot extend their stay beyond the passport expiry date. All visitors should possess a minimum of US$30.00 per person per day or confirmed hotel reservation for the intended period of stay in the Maldives, and a valid return air ticket to a destination where the passenger has permission to enter, together with necessary visas for the onward journey to the next destination.
