The Maldives is seeking election to the Human Rights Council for the period 2010-2013. If elected, the Maldives looks forward to working as a Council member with all United Nations Member States to enhance the effectiveness of the Council, and to ensure that it fulfils the mandate given to it by the General Assembly.
